Vigorous Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) regime conducted on every spelter socket. Materials meet or exceed an impact value of >42 Joule / -20°C Charpy-V. Marked with size, wire rope diameter & batch or serial number. Hot dip galvanised (HDG) finish. Suitable for use in sub-zero temperatures. Conformance certificates available. Manufactured in the Netherlands.
Rope Block model OSS quenched and tempered cast steel open spelter sockets with cotter pin have an efficiency rating equal to the breaking load of the socket as detailed above. Fitted correctly, they have an efficiency equal to the breaking load of the wire rope or strand. As New Zealand’s major supplier of steel wire rope, Cookes specialist riggers can fit spelter sockets to new or existing ropes to ensure a safe and secure connection.
