Why the need for seat belts ?
Numerous plant operators are killed and injured annually when they are thrown out or fall out. Many are injured by unseating even if the machine does not roll.
Do seat belts really work ?
Yes ! The chances of injury are significantly reduced when the operator stays in the seat.
Why are seat belts often not used ?
Many reasons: It's change. Macho. Some want to jump. Getting in and out, it can be a nuisance. Most belts are forgotten or difficult to use.

Why wear a seat belt on flat ground ?
It is either a HABIT or it is NOT a HABIT. If it is a HABIT it will be worn everywhere, even on flat ground. If it is not a HABIT someone's going to get caught out ! And, YES many operators have been hurt on flat ground.
